Howdy Folks,

Happy Labor Day

The Autumnal Equinox is nearly upon us, and as I reflect back on this summer I realize how fortunate I am to have met so many wonderful people over the past few months. To my new friends and fellow retreatants at El Retiro, I will carry the sangha with me forever. To those I met on my travels, especially those in Vermont and Montreal; may we meet again soon. There is much to report for the upcoming month, but first, a few things about this website:

The monthly “Five Good…” links will now be on the LINKS page, accessed from the buttons above. I will update them frequently. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

The PHOTO Page is updated, although it requires signing-in. There is more information on the PHOTO Page.

This coming month will be extremely busy for me, but I will continue to perform frequently. Check the PERFORMANCES page for upcoming shows, especially the evening outdoor Cannery Courtyard shows.

The remainder of my time will be spent either at school or at one of four events that are very special to me.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be visiting USF on September 5, and I am so excited I can just piss myself. The chance to meet him is one of the most exciting opportunities of my life. Wish me good fortune.

UPDATE: The USF interfaith service was a truly wonderful spiritual experience. His Holiness spoke on a variety of topics, stressing a good heart and compassion for our fellow brothers and sisters click here for further perspective on his rare visit.

Matt Gonzalez is running for Mayor of San Francisco and has my full support. My neighborhood was instrumental in getting him elected to the Board of Supervisors, and he has since become a very effective policy maker and civic leader.

No on Recall/Yes on Bustamante has many Californians wondering what is wrong with an elected official who has received the majority of votes being allowed to serve his/her term. I wholeheartedly endorse the NO on Recall/YES on Bustamonte vote, and a resounding no for Arnold.

Dr. Howard Dean has continued his juggernaut across America, leads in New Hampshire and Iowa, and has given millions of Americans hope for a better America. It is my hope that in the coming weeks General Wesley Clark will decide to throw his support behind the Doctor’s insurgent campaign. Please visit Dean For America for information on this remarkable man. I truly believe that the five-time Governor will become the next President, and plan on continuing my humble efforts to make it so.

UPDATE: Much to my dismay, General Clark has decided to try his luck in the political fray. I do not believe we should be looking for an Army General to lead our country at this time. Also, despite many positive characteristics, I do not think General Clark has the experience in public service. Soooo, I am looking towards former Congressman and Energy Secretary and current NM Governor Bill Richardson as a very viable alternative. Check him out.
